holy molly skids on phoney!
i just can't believe that i survived the combined schools trials today! it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. in fact it was great. i was given the freedom of the backline and it proved to be fun. there was supposed to be a fifteen-a-side match but since some didn't turn up then we played tens. it was more tiring then fifteens man. must keep running non-stop. but it was fun. as always i was the kicker. haha. my team eventually lost but it doesn't matter as the experience gained from the match was more important than the result. the fun part came after the match when we had training for the upcoming triangular championship. basically it means the combined-polytechnic, combined-ite and combined-jc teams will come together to fight for the championship. from there, thirty people will be shortlisted for the national team that will tour darwin. i played as outcenter and it was fun man. i played first team and the whole backline can speak malay i think except one winger keith. so basically we communicated in malay.haha. it was fun playing with them as our skill level was to the mark thus we were able to try complicated moves instead of the freaking hands that i always did in cjc. haha. after a while, the coach ask me and nabhan to take a rest so that he can try the other players. hansel plays the same position as me! haha. we're the only two cjc people there yet we are fighting for the same position. lol. actually i can play flyhalf but i don't want as its too stressful and my passing is not that awesome also. next week there's training again wth. boo.
today marks the start of the holidays but it doesn't seem like the holidays too me as i'm probably occupied the whole holidays with activities. haiz. somemore, my feaking history exam starts during the holidays and it falls on saturday! first time i'm doing an exam during the weekend. what kind of screwed up shit is this.
at last.
Upon much anticipation, the rugby update for the plate finals at redsports is finally up. My wait is not for nothing as the post had two pictures with me in it. haha. go take a look at it guys! but the sad thing is, the late update has brought some sort of media frenzy at the comments section due to an impatient jjcian which flamed the person who gave the late update. In response, the guy who got flamed made another post just to address this problem and in the end, the jjcian got flamed back like 100 to 1000 times worse than what he got. lol. so much tussle and bustle over a freaking plate final.
Nonetheless, there is a need now to take a check back into reality. And with the first paper for mid years coming on thursday, i have a feeling that i will screw the mid years up mine man. need to get into serious study mode which i simply can't because of reasons which i myself cannot figure out. I'll try my best to persevere and salvage whatever i can before eventually having to face judgment day itself. Whoosah...
artsy frenzy.
went to two photo exhibitions today with my pw group. the first was at winsland house II while the other was at cathay picture gallery. in what was suppose to be a fruitful visit, i only managed to get a single photo for the eom and chances are i may not get to use the photo as it has copyright claims on it. the first exhibition was alright, having to see some interesting photos of the world around us. the second exhibition was totally bullcrap. it turned out to be a full birds photo exhibition where all the photos taken are of birds. as if i've not seen enough of birds everyday. haha. nonetheless it was a concise effort to gather information for our pw project thus it was worth commending.
i have some things in mind. since i started saving money from a month ago, i somewhat have a wishlist which contains the things that i want to buy. the problem is, i don't know what to buy first. the list comprise of supplements, shirts, shoes, shorts, and a pair of jeans. i can't remember the rest. i guess i'll just save until 1k then buy everything at one shot. hahaha. sounds fun. thats all for now.
first dose of the vivid reality.
Today was a very important day for me as it marked the first game played together with the new J1 team. I was captain for the day and it felt good. we were against republic poly at their home ground. journey there was long but upon reaching the destination, we were astonished with the beauty of the polytechnic, a far cry from what cjc is. the field was astro-turf thus i wore spandex to cover every part of my leg. i was shocked to see some of my friends in the rp team. they had two national players and a side that was under 20 years of age. all we had was a fresh and raw J1 team that were ready to be battered into shape. the cj team embraced themselves for what would be a 'meaningful lesson'. with the new j1s playing, we got moped 43-0. it could be 43-3 if my penalty went in. as we were already beyond reach of catching up, we received a penalty few metres off the halfway line and i decided to go for the kick. it was ambitious but it almost went in. the ball hung in the air for close to four seconds and it strayed just below the horizontal pole. the guy that caught the ball stunned there for a while as he couldn't see whether the kick went in and when he saw a guy running at him at full speed and the ref not blowing the ball, he turned around and grounded the ball. it was a scrum at the five metre line. sadly, we lost that scrum and gone are the hopes of a try. besides that, nothing much in the game to talk about.
Anyway, that aside. i just received my schedule for the U-18 thingy. its held at RI over a few days. part of me wants to get selected so bad while the other part of me knows that if i get selected i will just put my body for an ass whopping by the ang mohs in Darwin and i surely will have problems managing my studies. for now lets just put it aside and enjoy whats left of today.
A new era.
yesterday was the first training that the j1s trained together without the seniors. As it is, i'm happy with the turnout for the first training. there were like thirty plus number of people that came. i was shocked to see that there were sixteen backs. first time i see that amount of backs. usually it will be like ten or eleven for the previous batch. i see some potential in the team for next year. this year we have a pretty big backline and as usual i'm probably one of the smallest back. there is also depth in the backline. On the other hand, the forwards only have like 10 or 12 people. Where actually forwards should have like two teams so that there is some spirit of competitiveness in them to fight for the first team and thus it will raise their standard. However, today's training was quite pathetic. Only a handful turned up. i was given the task to teach the backs how to tackle. it was quite funny considering the fact that my tackling is not that great either. i just taught them what i knew and left everything else to hansel aka kamikaze guy. its quite boring considering the fact that i'll be doing this for the next few months and not be honing my skills. i guess sacrifice its what's needed now for the team to improve.
Today in ethics lesson, ms tan was showing some local movie which was a part of a compilation movie series. then she went out to conduct the one to one heart to heart talk with the classmates. while she was still outside, the movie finished early and it went back to its home page where you could access the other movies in the series. without her consent, swank went and opened a short cartoon movie which was quite retarded. then suddenly there was one scene where the couple was making love on the bed, riding each other while the guy talked on the phone. everyone ended bursting into laughter as it was so random. when the movie finished, swank when to scroll the other movies and saw one that looked like it had explicit content. after he opened it, the intro was quite boring as they were scolding and cursing each other in chinese. then swank went to fast forward to the part where the couple was lying on the mattress with the woman not wearing pants except her panties. everyone burst out laughing again. the guy tried to talk the girl in having sex with him and when the girl refuse, the guy tried to force his way and it ended up with both of them rolling on the mattress and the guy started smacking the girl's butt continuously and it cracked everyone up. at that point, ms tan came in and everyone stunned a while before bursting into shots of laughter. she gave us that cheeky face before continuing with her lessons. lol.
Mid years is coming in a week and my preparations isn't that great at all. i guess i need to buck up now or else it will just be a farewell to the mid years. which is important as it accounted 20% for the promos which i think i will screw up. other than that, jc life has been great for me as i have great teachers, great classmates and great friends to make my life in cjc a meaningful one.
surprise surprise
today was the prize presentation for rugby. i asked mark to announce the top scorer but he didn't want to for the fact that i beat him to it. haha. but the shocker of the day was when bro. paul announced that certain students are selected for the u-18 combined school trials and there's two j1 students selected. i was like whose that two lucky buggers ha. then when he said my name first, i was shocked to the wits of my skull. i went silent for a while. why in the world did they choose me. bro. paul announced my name to the whole school, that made me quite embarrassed for the whole day as people were giving different looks to me throughout the day. my rugger friends were telling me " you better don't think of joining soccer now." i just smiled sheepishly. my dreams of joining soccer is shattered since hopes are pinned on me to bring the rugby team to greater heights. haiz.
anyway, just now i went to watch ruby cup finals with vavat. met ox and sandra there. saw moses too. and also some of the sji people who went sa. it was quite a sad case as st. andrew's got ripped their guts out by acs with a score of 21-8. i had the feeling that sa was going to lose right from the first whistle when the acs kickoff bounced like a million times bcos no one was catching it. it wasn't the exciting match that it was supposed to be as acs dominated the game. only if they were not so imbalanced. actually sa coud have taken them on i think. In my opinion, the drifters shit that the sa backline was doing wasn't actually effective as the standoff was meant to run flat that means no ground gained. on the other hand, acs backline's normal hands move was doing the damage as they manage to suck their man like a vacuum. their switches also show that the basics still owns. not that the drifters suck, its just that the second drifter receiver couldn't even break through the line the standoff was initially in.i strongly feel that sa would have been a stronger force if they had stick to their famous dsp combo.
not to worry, next year its cj's turn to own. if only we manage to dsa the new j1s in. haha.
Update.
i just ended my rugby season on a high. CJC are plate CHAMPIONS! haha.
even though plate are like fifth in the nationals, who cares. the top four teams are impossible to beat. rjc, acsi, acjc & sajc are like in their league of their own. even better news. my rugby teacher, mr fu, nominated me for the ltc thing in june which means i'm a likely candidate for captain next year.hahaha. if mr nathan, coach teo or my ruggers from sji hears this, they will surely laugh their asses off. bcos i've always been known to be a slacker rugger, even though my coach told me i have the most potential in the team. and one more thing. i'm cj's topscorer! HAHA. 30+ points i think. did not keep track of it. on another note, just when i thought that i could take a rest from rugby and hit the gym like always do a year ago, i'm told that training will resume as per normal as there's still some competition coming up for j1s. which means don't even dream of winning the upcoming competitions as the j1 team i think , either cannot even make up a full team of fifteen aside, maybe just nice for ten, or their technical skills still needs months of training. Anyways, i'll like to thank the people which came to support me. My classmates iron-ben, iggy, vern. And especially the Kapamons!! (ben, jared, kyle, whang, sandra, ox)
special mention goes out to sandra and ox for coming all the way from SA to support me. i bet it was worthwhile. hahha. pardon me if i miss out anyone. coz they are a lot of people that day.
that aside, life in cjc is a pleasure to be a part of. its just the education part that is a handful to handle. with that, i end my post on a high note.
